In response, CHA Learning is offering 3 new learning options for teams or individuals looking to enhance their ability to see their challenges and opportunities through a systems lens, and build capacity to transform their culture. Participants will have the opportunity to identify ways to solve their greatest challenges, develop innovative “next-practices”, break down silos, and take action to make micro-changes that strategically impact the future.

Systems Thinking & Transformation Group Workshop
Virtual or In-Person

Systems thinking can be used in any situation to make sense of what is happening, break down silos, navigate uncertainty, and solve our greatest collective challenges, together. It encourages leaders to explore issues related to understanding and leveraging the complex human and structural factors associated with change and transformation. The mindsets/mental models, patterns of behaviour, and organizational structures that drive our actions become visible and the hidden threads that compel us to act become clear and therefore changeable.

This workshop will help your team build a solid base to foster systems thinking, innovation, and ultimately enable you to drive strategic change in your complex system.

The workshop will use a combination of experiential learning, practice, small group activities, and lecture.

This workshop is facilitated by Amanda Bjorn, CHA Learning’s lead coach. Amanda is a Business Coaching Advantage Certified Coach™ and a Registered Corporate Coach™ with the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches. A former Occupational Therapist and the former EVP, People, Culture and Strategy at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, she has spent her 20+ year career working in health care. This short, micro-learning course is suitable for both individuals and groups.

The Systems Thinking & Transformation Micro eLearning Course will introduce learners to systems thinking and provide an overview of systems thinking transformation. It will help learners build the base to foster systems thinking, innovation, and ultimately enable them to drive strategic change in a complex system and an uncertain world. Learners will gain confidence in both driving strategic change and guiding others through that change within a complex system and an uncertain world.

Whether you’re a seasoned healthcare professional or just starting out, this course is designed to meet your needs. With complete self-direction and flexibility, you can work through the material in under 2 hours or take your time and complete it at your own pace within a generous 3-month window.

Learning Objectives

  • Appreciate how systems thinking contributes to shaping the health system;
  • Distinguish between complicated and complex systems;
  • Determine how to leverage awareness of the differences between complicated and complex systems to facilitate change;
  • Discover the key systems transformation leadership skills that enable facilitation of the systems transformation process for your teams and organization;
  • Explore key system thinking tools and techniques;
  • Reflect on the climate of your own environment from a systems perspective.

This offering combines the best of both worlds by offering a deep dive into Systems Thinking and Transformation through the Systems Thinking & Transformation Group Workshop facilitated by Amanda Bjorn, CHA Learning’s lead coach, along with the Systems Thinking & Transformation Micro e-Learning Course that learners can complete at their own pace.

As described above, the workshop will help your team build the base to foster systems thinking, innovation, and ultimately enable us to drive strategic change in a complex system and an uncertain world. Relevant to leadership development, the session will use a combination of experiential learning, practice, small group activities, and lecture.
