Administrative Information & Policies
Enrolment Process
In many cases, individual learners can enrol in our programs independently and easily on our website and have access to program materials within 30 minutes of payment.
Some programs have prerequisites and applications. Please refer to program pages for more information or get in touch with us.
As part of the enrolment process, you will set up an account in our Student Portal, which is where you will be able to access services such as grades and tax forms, update personal information as well as access your program in the Learning Management System.
Enrolling Someone Else (i.e.: staff member/team)
To enrol someone else (e.g., a staff member or employee) in a program or course, please contact us to discuss the best option for enrolment and payment, including if you require an invoice.
If you are an individual paying for someone else (e.g.: spouse), please have the individual who is enrolling in the program set up their own account. Contact us if you have any questions.
Enrolling a Group
Employers may wish to enrol a group of employees in a program or course. Group discounts may apply. CHA Learning also offers closed, personalized cohorts, in which your group can study with their peers exclusively on projects related to your organization. Members of HealthCareCAN are eligible for additional discounts. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Program Extensions & Postponements
CHA Learning offers extensions and postponements for our programs and courses, for situations where learners are unable to complete within the regular timeframe.
Postponements
Postponements allow a learner to pause their studies for up to 6 months.
A postponement is allowed only once per program, except under exceptional circumstances. These special cases must be approved by a Program Director.
Extensions
Extensions allow learners to extend their program or course timer for up to three months at a time. If you require additional extensions after three months, we highly recommend discussing your situation with your Program Coordinator.
CHA Learning can offer a free, one-time extension of 2-weeks to a student who requires it. This free extension can be used only once in a program of study. Once this two-week extension expires, further extensions will incur a fee, as per below.
Please note that when you click on the links below, the selected product will be added to your cart in our student portal. There is a 3-5 business day turnaround time to process extensions and postponements. If your program timer has already expired, you will not have access to your program materials during this time.
Learners should submit any final work for marking 2 weeks prior to their course/program expiry date, to allow for faculty marking and final grades.
Extensions are not allowed in the following courses:
- Health Information Management Core Curriculum courses (the biomedical sciences are eligible)
- Leadership Express courses
- Comprehensive Research Education Online (creo)
If you would like to discuss the circumstances of your situation, or are unsure which extension would be best for you, please contact your Program Coordinator and we would be glad to discuss this with you.
