Donna Michaels

Donna is a senior healthcare leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across long-term care, retirement living, seniors’ housing, and health and social services. She currently serves with the Retirement Home Regulatory Authority in Enforcement and Compliance Monitoring and is Project Manager for Accreditation and Long-Term Care Redevelopment with Six Nations Health Services and Iroquois Lodge.

Throughout her career, Donna has held progressive leadership roles including Long-Term Care Administrator and Retirement Home General Manager at multiple organizations across Ontario. She also serves as a Team Lead Surveyor with Accreditation Canada and has been a member of the CHA Learning faculty since 2008. Her previous experience includes serving as Executive Director of the Ontario Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, Nursing Workload Consultant with Sunnybrook and Women’s College Health Sciences Centre, Health Policy Researcher with Trinity Health Group, Project Manager for the Ontario Victim Services Review at the Ontario Police College, and Policy and Program Analyst with the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General.

Donna holds a Master of Arts in Health Services from Norwich University and an Honours Bachelor of Health and Social Sciences, with a Certificate in Gerontology, from the University of Waterloo. She has completed executive leadership studies through the Community Health Leadership Program at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, and is a licensed Long-Term Care Administrator in Ontario. She is also an Accreditation Canada surveyor and has completed advanced professional development in Lean methodology, workplace mental health, emergency management, and healthcare quality.
