Kalaivani Maheshkumar

Kalaivani Maheshkumar, B.P.T., CHIM, is a healthcare professional with more than 15 years of experience spanning Health Information Management, medical coding, and clinical physiotherapy. She currently works as a Health Information Management Professional with Alberta Health Services and has been a faculty member with CHA Learning since 2019.

Kalaivani began her career in India as a clinical physiotherapist and tutor before transitioning into medical coding. She subsequently held Medical Coder and Senior Medical Coder positions with healthcare services organizations supporting health information processes. Her experience also includes working as a Process Associate before continuing her Health Information Management career in Canada.

After completing CHA Learning’s Health Information Management Diploma in 2019, Kalaivani earned the Certified in Health Information Management (CHIM) designation. Her combined clinical and health information experience provides her with a broad perspective on clinical documentation, medical coding, health data, and the application of health information standards.

Kalaivani joined CHA Learning as an online faculty member in 2019. Her experience includes supporting learners with coding concepts and complex coding scenarios, drawing on her professional experience and knowledge of health information resources and standards.
