Michael May
Michael May, NM, MBA, is an experienced healthcare food service and operations leader with more than 30 years of experience spanning food and nutrition services, business development, organizational effectiveness, change management, and multi-site operations. He currently serves as Vice President of Operations with Nutra Services, an Aramark Canada company, where he has worked since 2014.
Throughout his career, Michael has held progressively senior management positions with organizations including ARAMARK, Compass Group Canada, Sodexo, Marriott Management Services, and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. His experience includes national operations support and quality assurance, healthcare district management, nutrition and food services leadership, long-term care, environmental services, and institutional food service operations.
Michael holds a Master of Business Administration and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Management from Athabasca University, as well as education in Nutrition Management and Chef Training from George Brown College. His additional professional development includes PROSCI Change Management Certification, Lean Green Belt certification, Long-Term Care Administration through CHA Learning, and a Certificate in Adult Learning from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.
In addition to his operational leadership career, Michael has extensive experience as an educator and course developer. He has been a CHA Learning instructor since 2001, supporting learners in Business Management and Human Resources within the Food and Nutrition Management Program. He has also developed courses for CHA Learning and taught with Fanshawe Toronto at ILAC, Loyalist College, Centennial College, and other post-secondary institutions.
Michael brings his practical management experience into the learning environment, connecting business and management concepts with their application in food service and healthcare organizations. He values mentoring and supporting learners as they develop the knowledge and skills needed to progress in their careers.
