Kathleen Turner
Kathleen Turner, BASc, RD, is a Registered Dietitian with more than 20 years of experience in clinical nutrition, patient education, and post-secondary teaching. Her career has included work across acute care, rehabilitation, long-term care, cardiac rehabilitation, family practice, and chronic disease management.
Kathleen has worked as a Registered Dietitian with The Ottawa Hospital since 2006 and also provides dietetic services in long-term care. Her clinical experience spans a wide range of areas, including cardiac and general surgery, cardiac rehabilitation, hypertension, nephrology, general medicine, and diabetes. She has worked with clients individually and in group settings to support nutrition goals and improve understanding of the role nutrition plays in health and disease.
Throughout her career, Kathleen has contributed to the development of healthcare programs and patient education resources, particularly in family practice, diabetes, and cardiac rehabilitation. Her experience combines direct patient care with nutrition education and program development.
Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Guelph and completed her Dietetic Internship with Providence Health Care in British Columbia. She has been an instructor at Algonquin College since 2012, where she shares her clinical and nutrition expertise with future food service and nutrition management professionals.
