Ami Whitlock
Ami Whitlock, RD, is a Registered Dietitian, educator, and healthcare food service professional with more than 20 years of experience spanning clinical nutrition, food service and environmental services management, consulting, program development, and education. She currently serves as Chair of CHA Learning’s Food Service and Nutrition Management in Healthcare Program.
Ami’s healthcare career has included clinical, administrative, and leadership roles across long-term care and other healthcare environments. She has worked as a Regional Clinical Dietitian and Long-Term Care Project Coordinator with Aramark, Director of Food and Environmental Services with Sodexo, and Operations Support Manager with Compass Group Canada. She also continues to work as an independent dietitian consultant.
Education and program development have been significant areas of Ami’s career. Before becoming Chair of CHA Learning’s Food Service and Nutrition Management in Healthcare Program in 2018, she served as Program Manager from 2011 to 2013. She has also worked as a professor in Nutrition and Food Service Management and developed and supervised a Healthcare Environmental Service Management Program at Centennial College. Since 2014, she has worked as a high school teacher with the Durham District School Board.
Ami holds a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from the University of Prince Edward Island and completed her Post-Graduate Dietetic Internship at The Ottawa Hospital. She also holds a Teacher Trainer of Adults Certificate from Centennial College and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
Drawing on her experience in healthcare, dietetics, management, and education, Ami supports learners in connecting academic knowledge with the practical challenges and opportunities encountered in healthcare nutrition and food service management.
