Danielle Simpson
Danielle Simpson is Director, Strategy, System & Quality Improvement at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). She is an experienced healthcare leader with more than 15 years of experience advancing quality improvement, patient safety, and health system transformation across hospitals, regional health authorities, and provincial healthcare organizations. Prior to joining CHEO, Danielle served as Director of Quality and Patient Safety at The Royal Ottawa Health Care Group and previously held leadership roles with Vancouver Coastal Health and the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council.
Danielle holds a Master of Public Health and is an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She has completed advanced training in quality improvement and patient safety and was selected in 2021 as one of two Canadians to participate in the International Hospital Federation’s Young Executive Leaders Program. She is also a Credential Evaluator with the Canadian Evaluation Association.
Since joining the CHA Learning faculty in 2021, Danielle has enjoyed helping healthcare professionals strengthen their knowledge and skills in patient safety and quality improvement. She values the opportunity to learn alongside her students and believes that, regardless of where they work in Canada, healthcare professionals share many common challenges and can learn a great deal from one another’s experiences.
Outside of work, Danielle enjoys cycling, hiking, and spending time outdoors with her family.
