Janie Desroches
Janie Desroches is Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive at Winchester District Memorial Hospital, where she provides senior leadership for clinical services, quality, patient safety, and nursing practice. A Registered Nurse by profession, she has more than 15 years of healthcare experience spanning clinical practice, quality improvement, patient experience, risk management, and healthcare leadership.
Prior to joining Winchester District Memorial Hospital in 2023, Janie spent nearly a decade at Hôpital Montfort in progressively senior leadership roles, including Director of Quality and Patient Support Services, Manager of Quality and Patient Experience, and Manager of Clinical Services. Earlier in her career, she practised as a Registered Nurse and completed an internship with the World Health Organization’s organizational development team.
Janie holds a Master of Health Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McGill University. She is a Certified Health Executive (CHE), Certified Patient Safety Officer, Lean Management Green Belt, and has completed a Certificate in Health Law from Osgoode Hall Law School and the LEADS Inspired Leadership Program.
Throughout her career, Janie has led quality improvement initiatives ranging from clinical fall prevention and departmental quality improvement plans to hospital-wide Accreditation Canada preparation. She has also contributed to research and publications focused on patient-centred care and has served as an Accreditation Canada Surveyor since 2024. Janie is bilingual in English and French and has been a member of the CHA Learning faculty since 2023.
