Jen Plant

Jen Plant is Vice President, Clinical Services at Queensway Carleton Hospital, where she provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for a broad portfolio of clinical programs and services. In this role, she advances organizational priorities in quality, patient safety, workforce development, and care delivery while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and interprofessional collaboration.

A Registered Respiratory Therapist by profession, Jen has nearly 30 years of experience across acute care and long-term care settings. Early in her career, she transitioned into healthcare quality and patient safety leadership, developing deep expertise in safety science, health system improvement, and the delivery of high-quality care. She further strengthened her executive leadership foundation by earning a Master of Science in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety from the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto.

Throughout her career, Jen has translated her clinical expertise into strategic and operational leadership, leading initiatives that have strengthened organizational performance, expanded programs and services, and enhanced both the patient and provider experience. Her contributions include the development and implementation of a cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program, sleep laboratory, Living Classroom, Centre of Excellence in Frailty-Informed Care, Best Practice Spotlight Organization designation, simulation program, Regional Anesthesia Assistant Education Program, Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, and health human resources initiatives.

A collaborative leader and committed mentor, Jen is passionate about developing future healthcare leaders and supporting continuous learning. She believes meaningful improvement comes from empowering healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to drive innovation, strengthen quality, and create safer, more responsive healthcare systems for patients, families, and providers.
