Pauline Warden is the Director of Quality, Safety, Risk, Patient Experience and Professional Practice at Ross Memorial Hospital, an acute-care community hospital in the City of Kawartha Lakes, located 140 km northeast of Toronto, Ontario. Pauline brings over 35 years of clinical and administrative experience in cancer care and acute care settings; working in both the United Kingdom and Canadian healthcare systems.

A Radiation Therapist by profession; Pauline holds a Masters Degree in Healthcare Quality from Queens University and in addition to her significant quality and safety experience, she holds a Lean green belt and a Specialist Certificate in the Fundamentals of External Evaluation Surveying from ISQua.

One of Pauline’s greatest strengths is her passion for systems thinking and her ability to apply an accomplished human factors perspective that garners a holistic understanding of the processes and structures that surround and influence patients, providers and support teams.

Pauline believes that everyone in healthcare; including non-patient facing individuals; has a personal accountability for contributing to quality, safety and a person-centered experience. She is skilled in cultivating teams during their improvement journeys in the pursuit of excellence and in the development of authentic partnerships with patients and families. In addition to her ability to put people at ease, she treats every interaction as an opportunity to empower and create new leaders at all levels through coaching, celebration and learning.
